Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Prague Based collects through this website and by email, why we collect it, and what rights you have. We keep it short, because we collect very little.

1. Who we are

The controller of your personal data is Prague Based s.r.o., ID No. (IČO) 17195853, with its registered office at Frýdlantská 1312/19, Kobylisy, 182 00 Praha 8, Czech Republic.

2. What data we collect

When you email us

The website has no forms or user accounts. Email links on the site open your own email app and send your message to hello@praguebased.com. We then receive your email address, your name, the content of your message, and anything else you choose to share, such as your company, phone number or project documents.

When you apply for a job

If you write to job@praguebased.com, we receive your CV, portfolio and any other details you send us.

When you visit the website

The website runs on Wix. Wix records anonymous visit statistics for us: which pages were viewed and when, the type of device and browser, the website you came from, and an approximate location, such as the city or district (for example “Prague 7”), derived from your IP address. We never see your exact location and cannot identify you from these statistics.

3. Why we use it and on what legal basis

• Replying to your enquiry, preparing a quote or calling you back: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• Working on a project with you: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and keeping invoices and accounting records as required by law (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
• Occasional news about our work: we may send clients and people who have contacted us a personal email about new projects or services. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, for clients, Section 7(3) of Act No. 480/2004 Coll. We don’t send mass newsletters or buy contact lists. You can opt out at any time by replying to any of our emails or writing to hello@praguebased.com.
• Recruitment: steps taken before a possible employment contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). If we would like to keep your application for future positions, we do so on the basis of our legitimate interest, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
• Website statistics: understanding how the website performs in different regions so we can improve it, which is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Where the law requires your consent to cookies, we ask for it first.

4. Who processes your data for us

We never sell your personal data. It is handled only by us and by these service providers:

• Google (Google Workspace): our email and document storage.
• Wix.com: website hosting, content management and visit statistics.
• Accountants and other professional advisers, only where needed to meet our legal obligations.

Google and Wix may process data outside the European Union, including in the United States. Such transfers are protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

5. How long we keep it

• Enquiries that do not turn into a project: up to 3 years after our last contact.
• Correspondence with clients: 5 years after the project ends.
• Invoices and accounting records: for as long as Czech accounting and tax law requires.
• Job applications: for the duration of the recruitment process, then for no more than 12 months, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
• Visit statistics: Wix keeps them in aggregated form under its own retention rules.

6. Cookies

The website uses technical cookies set by Wix, which it needs to run securely and quickly (session and caching cookies). It also stores a technical key in your browser that lets the site load the project gallery. Wix uses cookies to compile the visit statistics described above. Where your consent is required, we ask for it in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice there at any time. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• have it corrected or deleted;
• restrict how we use it;
• receive it in a portable format;
• object to processing based on our legitimate interest, including at any time to receiving emails about our work;
• withdraw any consent you have given.

Write to hello@praguebased.com and we will reply within one month. If you think we handle your data unlawfully, you can also complain to the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů), Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Praha 7, uoou.gov.cz.

8. Links to other websites

Our website links to our profiles on LinkedIn and Instagram. These services handle your data under their own privacy policies.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices or the law change. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
